Rebecca Byrne has made this colourful quilt for her daughter Kaitlin, it has Kaitlin's details embroidered into some of the blocks. I have quilted this quilt with lots of different quilting patterns to enhance each block individually. Lots of hearts, curls and a flowing feather border.
Hi everyone and welcome to 2015 - I cant believe its March already! The year is flying by.
This happy bright quilt was made by my gorgeous daughter Ayla and myself. Three years ago we were on a holiday in Bright - beautiful part of Victoria and we visited the patchwork shop "Sew Bright" and we both fell in love with these fabrics. The pink is my favourite and blue is Ayla's:-). We also purchased a pattern by 'Hugs-n-kisses' named 'Phoebe'. As this was a project for us to make together Ayla has cut out all of the applique shapes with vliesofix attached and helped with all of the colour combinations. I have quilted around the shapes to secure them all but left the raw edge visible, as the quilt gets washed this edge becomes ragged and soft adding another texture to this quilt. The centre block was Aylas first time piecing as she has now grown tall enough to reach the peddle, we had so much fun over the three years of making this quilt.
